The high resolution and high quality of broadcast content represented by HDTV, 4K, and 8K has brought about a major revolution from synchronous transfer using coaxial cable to asynchronous transfer using Ethernet.

For this transition, ST2022, ST2110*, which was standardized by the initiative of SMPTE (American Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers), is the core of the specification. Currently, many broadcasting equipments are working on this.

VIP is an analysis device that can use PTP to check the behavior of each device against the ST2110 standard that compensates for content synchronization in an asynchronous transfer environment.

  • ST2110-10,20,30,40 The fluctuation of each RTP content packet can be measured in real time by using the hardware time stamp and RTP time stamp. Also, up to 10 items can be arbitrarily selected and monitored simultaneously.
  • ST2110-21 Traffic (uncompressed) shaping monitoring function
  • The analysis results can be displayed in real time as a time series graph in addition to the table display. Also, each can be saved as a CSV file.
  • Packet capture and decoding function
  • Download the acquired packet to an external node and analyze it with WireShark

ST2110

ST2110 is a standard developed by SMPTE (American Society for Motion Picture and Television Engineers) to perform individual signal transmission (audio, video, and other incidental data) while synchronizing time on an IP network. ST2110 uses ST2059, which is a standard that enables delivery of time and reference time to all devices on the network, as the time synchronization method.

ST2022

ST2022 is a standard developed by SMPTE (American Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) for transmitting video flows over IP networks. Specifically, it aims to transmit SDI (serial digital interface) signals (voice, video, and other incidental data) over IP networks. An important aspect of this standard is the adoption of FEC (forward error correction function) that compensates for packet loss that occurs momentarily during transmission. The following seven items are open to the public in this standard.
