Napatech NTBPE Packet Capture Adapter

Datasheet

Napatech Packet Capture Diagram

The NTBPE is an optical bypass adapter, which provides a stand-alone failover solution for in-line applications using Napatech optical adapters.

Normal and Bypass

The NTBPE adapter has two modes: Normal and Bypass. In Normal mode network packets are sent through the bypass adapter to an in-line adapter. In Bypass mode network packets flow through unattended, maintaining a transparent flow of network traffic. The NTBPE switches to Bypass mode in the event of a detected failure. The switchover can also be performed on command via software. This allows adapters to be taken out of commission for feature upgrades.

Configurations

The NTBPE has simultaneous support for 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps connections, and supports 4 optical network adapter ports. Two product variants are available supporting either single-mode 9 µm or multi-mode 50 µm fiber.
